Is Creativity tied to Personality Type or Can it be

Learned?

1. Curiosity

I’ve written previously on the topic of curiosity because I’m convinced that it is an essential skill to build as a blogger. Learning to ask ‘why’, ‘what if’ and ‘I wonder…’ are great questions t build into your life if you want to be a more creative person.

2. Seeing Problems as Interesting and Acceptable

One of the problems of the Western mindset is that we often see problems or obstacles in life as unacceptable parts of life. We avoid pain or suppress it when it comes and in doing so don’t often see and feel symptoms that are there to tell us something important. Creative people see problems as a natural and normal part of life – in fact they often have a fascination with problems and are drawn to them.

3. Confronting Challenge

Many of the most creative ideas through out history have come from people facing a challenge or crisis and rather than running from it asking ‘how can I overcome this’?

4. Constructive Discontent

Creative people often have an acute awareness of what’s wrong with the world around them – however they are constructive about this awareness and won’t allow themselves to get bogged down in grumbling about it – they take their discontent and let it be a motivation to doing something constructive.

5. Optimism

Creative people generally have a deeply held belief that most (if not all) problems can be solved. No challenge is too big to be overcome and no problem cannot be solved (this doesn’t mean they’re always happy or never depressed – but they don’t generally get stumped by a challenge).

6. Suspending Judgment

The ability to hold off on judging or critiquing an idea is important in the process of creativity. Often great ideas start as crazy ones – if critique is applied too early the idea will be killed and never developed into something useful and useable. (note – this doesn’t mean there is never a time for critique or judgement in the creative process – it’s actually key – but there is a time and place for it).

7. Seeing Hurdles as leading to improvements and solutions

This relates to some of the above – but by ‘hurdles’ I mean problems and mistakes in the creative process itself. Sometimes it’s on the journey of developing an idea that the real magic happens and it’s often out of the little problems or mistakes that the idea is actually improved.

8. Perseverance

Creative people who actually see their ideas come to fruition have the ability to stick with their ideas and see them through – even when the going gets tough. This is what sets apart the great from the good in this whole sphere. Stick-ability is key.

9. Flexible Imagination

I love watching a truly creative person at work when they’re ‘on fire’. They have this amazing ability to see a problem or challenge and it’s many potential solutions simultaneously and they have an intuitive knack at being able to bring previously disconnected ideas together in flashes of brilliance that seem so simple – yet which are so impossible to dream up for the average person.

1. Creative people have a great deal of physical energy, but they’re also often quiet and at rest.

Orang kreatif memiliki energi yang luar biasa dalam menciptakan suseutu tetapi kadang kala  dia juga kan bersikap diam jika dia ingin mencari inspirasi untuk menciptakan sesuatu.

2. Creative people tend to be smart yet naive at the same time.

Orang keatif memanglah orang yang pintar karena mereka selalu berpikir “out of the box”. Orang kreatif juga bisa menjadi seorang yang naif.  Naif di sini maksudnya adalah kekanak-kanakan, dimana anak-anak selalu berpikiran polos karena mereka tidak mengetahui apa-apa. Orang kreatif memang selalu berpikiran polos karena dia menganggap bahwa dirinya seolah-olah tidak mengetahui apa-apa sehingga dengan begitu mereka akan dapat berpikir “out of the box”.

3. Creative people combine playfulness and discipline, or responsibility and irresponsibility.

Orang kreatif selalu menggabung antara dua hal yang kontradiktif. Walaupun mereka bersikap main-main, tetapi mereka sebetulnya disiplin untuk menyelesaikan dan mensiptakan suatu hal. Dengan tidak bertanggung jawabnya mereka terhadap keteraturan, mereka akan dapat berpikir “out of the box” tetapi disertai pertanggung jawaban mereka terhadap apa yang mereka pikirkan.

4. Creative people alternate between imagination and fantasy, and a rooted sense of reality.

Imajinasi dan fantasi merupakan modal utama seorang yang kreatif. Orang kreatif akan selalu menjadikan imajinasi dan fantasi mereka menjadi suatu hal yang nyata.

5. Creative people trend to be both extroverted and introverted.

Orang kreatif memang orang yang extroverted karena mereka selalu berani untuk mengekspresikan diri mereka, jalan pikiran mereka, ke depan umum dalam bentuk apapun. Orang kreatif memang orang yang introverted karena dalam berpikir, mereka harus dapat fokus pada diri mereka sendiri, apa yang mereka mau dan apa yang mereka inginkan.

6. Creative people are humble and proud at the same time.

Orang kreatif akan selalu bangga terhadap apa yang mereka ciptakan tetapi juga akan selalu merasa rendah diri terhadap apa yang mereka ciptakan karena mereka berpikir bahwa apa yang mereka ciptakan bukan sesuatu yang spektakular sehingga mereka akan terus berjuang untuk menyempurnakan karya mereka.

7. Creative people, to an extent, escape rigid gender role stereotyping.

Yuuupp… Berpikir di luar keteteraturan dan segala hal yang kaku merupakan jalan berpikir orang kreatif. Dengan hal itu, mereka akan dapat berpikir “out of the box”.

8. Creative people are both rebellious and conservative.

Sikap pemberontak orang kreatif akan membuat mereka bisa berpikir “out of the box”.  Sedangkan, sikap konservatif mereka akan menjadi pembatas,pengingat dan guideline mereka  dalam berpikir “out of the box”

9. Most creative people are very passionate about their work, yet they can be extremely objective about it as well.

It should be !!! Karena jika mereka tidak memiliki passion terhadap apa yang mereka kerjakan, mereka tidak akan bisa menyelesaikan karya mereka dan juga jika mereka tidak berpikir objektive, mereka tidak dapat menyempurnakan hasil karya mereka.

10. Creative people’s openness and sensitivity often exposes them to suffering and pain, yet also to a great deal of enjoyment.

Keterbukaan dan kesenstisitifan orang kreatif kadang-kadang akan membawa mereka ke penderitaan mereka. Masyarakat  kadang-kadang tidak dapat menerima apa yang orang kreatif  kerjakan dan lakukan karena menurut mereka itu melanggar keteraturan sehingga kadang-kadang mereka akan memberikan sanksi atau hukuman terhadap apa yang dilakukan oleh orang kreatif.

Kalo dulu pasti ga ada yang ga tau yang namanya ‘message in a bottle’  tapiii sekarang ada inovasi baru yang serupa dengan ‘message in a bottle’ yaitu ‘message in an egg’

‘Message in an egg’ adalah sebuah ide lain dari pesan dalam botol (message in a bottle)

Tidak perlu repot-repot nulis pesan. Karena di dalam ‘message in egg’ sudah terdapat pesan yang pastinya akan amat sangat berkesan di hati sang penerima pesan.

Konsep menetasnya ‘message in an egg’ berbeda dengan menetasnya sebuah telur biasa.

Cukup buka kalengnya, tambahkan air dan dalam hitungan jam, si telur akan mulai menetas. Dalam hitungan jam, telur akan menetas dan tanaman kacang akan mulai tumbuh dengan pesan terukir di situ.

Inamo jadi restoran yang paling happening saat ini di daerah London. Bukan karena menunya yang menarik, bukan juga karena tempatnya yang nyaman, tapi karena mejanya berupa meja touch screen yang berfungsi untuk memesan makanan.

Duluu anak yang bersekolah pasti diajarin pelajaran geografi. Nahh di pelajaran georgrafi ini, pasti di ajarin bahwa negara kita, Indonesia ini terdiri dari berbagai banyak pulau. Waktu itu, gur geografiku bilang kalo ternyata ga semua pulau di Indonesia itu di huni dan masih banyak pulau yang belum diberi nama. Nahh, selain dia bilang begitu, dia juga bilang kalo Indonesia tuh kekayaan alamnya sangat bagus dan indah.

Nahh, gara2 dia bilang bgitu, saya sempat pernah terpikir untuk membuat bisnis penyewaan pulau-pulau di Indonesia. Jadi, pulau-pulau tersebut disewa untuk dikelola dengan baik dan bertanggung jawab, habis dulu sempet terpikir daripada mubazir mending disewain aja. Sapa tau aja bisa dijadiin Fantasy island atau Private Island kayak yang ada di Amerika tengah gitu. Waktu itu saya berpikir mending kalo Private Island ditawarin artis-artis Hollywood habiskan biasanya mereka suka yang private. Selain itu ada faktor lain, yaitu keindahan pantai kita, nah pantai- pantai itu bisa dijadiin tempat berjemur para artis-artis Hollywood biar kulitnya jadi coklat, kalo kata orang skarang tanning (hehehee..). Kalo Fantasy land, pinginnya nawarin ke Disney atau Universal Studio buat bikin taman hiburannya di pulau itu. Jadi, satu pulau tersebut bener bener dibuat jadi taman hiburan. Jadi kayak di film Scooby Doo yang pertama gitu, dimana scooby doo ma tmen2 di mystery inc. nya ke satu pulau yang memang dibikin buat jadi taman hiburan.

Yahh, itu lah ide dan imajinasiku waktu saya kecil. Yah namanya juga anak kecil cuma bisa ngayal. hehehe….

NAPSTER… why??

first reason, because I like to hear music very very much… so NAPSTER is help me very very much…

second reason, because NAPSTER teach me a lot…

If I don’t know NAPSTER, I will not know about many music from all around the world and I don’t know that we can hear music in mp3 format. Yeahh in that time, I like to download Japan music which is difficult to find listen in here. XD

third reason, NAPSTER is the first company and also the pioneer company ( we all know after NAPSTER, there are many same business occur like KAzAA, LimeWIre, etc) that makes us can share and download music FREEEE Yeah for me, I like everything that free. Besides that, in that time if I want to hear music, I must buy CD or cassette and to buy I must have money which is in that time my pocket money is small.

Although, many people like NAPSTER, there is a controversy occur which is the copyright violation. Many singers and recording company don’t like NAPSTER because of that. So, that’s why NAPSTER is sued by many recording company. And because of that, now NAPSTER not free again, we must pay to download mp3.

In my opinion, with the existance of NAPSTER in that time, makes people know many kinds of music. I think the singer should grateful because their music can be heard in all around of the world. Because of the creativity and innovation that NAPSTER has in that time, nowday we can hear any kind of music from many countries. There is no boundaries to hear music.
